Several neighboring peoples in northern Cote d&#39Ivoire and southwest Burkina Faso make and wear cast copper alloy protective pendants. However this style of turtle, in pairs over triangular waves is distinctively Tusyan. Our turtle jewelry is a detail of a pendant from the Tusyan people of Burkina Faso in the collection of the Smithsonian&#39s National Museum of African Art.
