Beschreibung
Since it is closely related to malachite, azurite is sometimes called “blue malachite.” Both minerals have been used as pigments for artists. Since azurite is likely to change to green as it ages, it is believed that in some old paintings where the sky has turned green, azurite was originally used as a blue pigment. The name “chessylite” refers to azurite found in Chessy, France. Among the believers in the magic of stones, azurite is said to represent clairvoyance.
