The five charms on this bracelet exemplify the magical concepts with which most Egyptians identified. The frog, because of its great numbers of offspring, represented fertility. The mummiform figure, known as a shawabty, symbolized rebirth. Cats were sacred, and were often buried in their own body-shaped coffins. Plated with 22k gold, this bracelet features adaptations of small objects and amulets from the Egyptian collection at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
